Nusa Dua, Bali 1 May 2013 – Ayodya Resort Bali is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Peter Scholz as Resort Manager, following a careful selection process led by Singgasana Hotels and Resorts Group. Peter took over the position from former General Manager, Martin Aeschlimann, who will now fulfil the role of Vice President Operations for Singgasana Hotels and Resorts Group.
With an MBA in hotel management, Peter’s passion lies in the field of food & beverage, providing long lasting memories for guests, as well as in the development and grooming of future leaders and Managers for the Ayodya Resort Bali.
He began his career in his German homeland, where he spent three career-defining years in an apprenticeship, which led to him becoming a certified chef in 1987. For the next years he served in the German Armed Forces, after being conscripted for compulsory military service. .
After this, Peter moved back into the hospitality industry, taking up his first overseas appointment in 2000 at Hyatt Hotels Dubai. Here, he held several positions until his promotion to the role of an Operations Analyst for both Hyatt Regency Dubai and Grand Hyatt Dubai. In 2004, he moved to Amman in Jordan with the same hotel group, where he held the position of Assistant Director of Food & Beverage at Grand Hyatt for more than two years.
The appeal of The Philippines, however, was irresistible to Peter, and in 2006 he moved to Manila and assumed the same position as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage at the Mandarin Oriental, before joining Banyan Tree Bangkok for a year, followed by Banyan Tree Bintan, Indonesia, for two years as Food & Beverage Manager and Area Director of Food & Beverage.
Prior to his appointment at Ayodya Resort Bali as Resort Manager, Peter was the Executive Assistant Manager at Banyan Tree, Ungasan, Bali, and the Resident Manager of Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa.
Peter, born in Germany, speaks English as well as his native language. His hobbies include, cooking and scuba diving. He is married and is a proud father of a seven-year-old daughter.
